No login, no personal data — bookmark to save and share
18 Oct 2026 · Why we skip accounts, and how the URL does the job instead
Most calculators ask you to create an account so you can “save your numbers.” That usually means your salary, pension, and family details sit on someone else’s server — whether you needed that or not.
We don’t want your data. We want the tool to be convenient. On taxinfo.uk there is no sign-up, no password, and no profile. Calculations run entirely in your browser. Your scenario is kept in the page URL, so you can bookmark to save and copy the link to share.
We don’t want your data
Salary, tax code, pension rates, EV quotes, nursery sacrifice, Tax-Free Childcare costs — these are personal. Uploading them to a cloud account for a take-home estimate is more risk than value.
- No accounts — nothing to register, verify, or remember.
- No salary upload — the maths happens on your device; inputs are not sent to a server for the calculation.
- No “saved scenarios” database — we don’t store your numbers for you, so we can’t lose them, leak them, or sell them.
If you leave the page, we haven’t kept a copy. That’s the point.
Convenience without the account
Skipping login doesn’t mean starting from scratch every time. As you change inputs, the address bar updates with a compact query string — salary, pension type, student loan plan, EV / nursery toggles, and so on. Reload that URL (or open it on another device) and the calculator fills itself in.
Think of the link as your save file. It’s yours to keep, not ours to host.
Bookmark to save
- Enter the scenario you care about — offer letter, EV quote, childcare cliff, whatever you’re modelling.
- Wait a moment for the URL to catch up (it syncs as you type).
- Bookmark the page in your browser, or pin the tab.
Next visit, that bookmark opens the same numbers. Rename bookmarks if you like — “Offer A”, “With EV”, “ANI under £100k” — so you can compare options without logging in.
Share without exporting a spreadsheet
Need a second opinion from a partner, accountant, or friend? Copy the URL from the address bar and send it. They see the same inputs and results — no account hand-off, no “export to PDF then email.”
- Same link, same scenario — useful when you’re debating salary sacrifice or Tax-Free Childcare thresholds.
- You control who sees it — only people you send the link to get those numbers.
- Treat shared links like any personal info — don’t post a full salary URL on a public forum if you’d rather keep the figure private.
What this is good for
- Comparing job offers or bonus structures side by side (one bookmark each).
- Checking whether an EV scheme or nursery salary sacrifice helps near the £100k cliff.
- Modelling Adjusted Net Income for Tax-Free Childcare / 30 hours without creating yet another parenting-app login.
What we trade off (on purpose)
There is no cross-device sync unless you send yourself the link. Clear your bookmarks and that saved scenario is gone from easy reach — same as a sticky note you’d written yourself. We think that’s a fair price for never holding your payroll details.
